Charles Lincoln Neal III, known professionally as Link Neal, was born in 1978 in Erwin, North Carolina. He met his long-time creative partner, Rhett McLaughlin, in elementary school, forming a lifelong friendship that would eventually serve as the foundation for a digital media empire. Neal attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in industrial engineering. Following graduation, he worked as an engineer for IBM before choosing to pursue a career in comedy and digital content creation full-time.
The duo launched their YouTube channel, Rhett & Link, in 2006, focusing on musical comedy, sketches, and commercial parodies. Their breakthrough came as the platform matured, leading to the creation of Good Mythical Morning in 2012. The daily variety show became a staple of internet culture, garnering billions of views and spawning a robust production company known as Mythical Entertainment. This venture allowed them to expand their influence through various sub-channels, merchandise lines, and original series.
Neal's wealth, estimated at approximately $35 million, is primarily derived from the success of Mythical Entertainment, which manages a significant workforce and produces a high volume of recurring content. The company has diversified its revenue streams through brand partnerships, product launches like the Mythical Kitchen brand, and a successful subscription-based membership program. Their ability to adapt to changing algorithms and consumer habits has kept them at the forefront of the creator economy for nearly two decades.
Today, Link Neal remains one of the most recognizable figures in independent digital production. Beyond his work on screen, he is a partner in the strategic growth of his media company, which continues to incubate new talent and projects. He lives in the Los Angeles area and continues to collaborate closely with McLaughlin, maintaining the professional partnership that has defined his career since its inception.
